"Rude consultant"

About: Leighton Hospital

I recently was discharged from hospital from an emergency five night stay. I first would like to thank the ward 12 team of nurses and HCAs -they were excellent. Now on to my complaint, which I have many of. I was put under a consultant who was so incredibly rude that each visit left me crying. I have been under investigation for crohns disease, which has now been completely ruled out (apparently) and during my stay was told I have IBS. Now, to my knowledge this is a diagnosis of exclusion? So I have not been tested for a lot of bowel disorders, like slow motility, why have I been branded with this? This consultant refused to believe that my colonoscopy had come back with abnormal results, and kept insisting I was lying and he had seen the report. Obviously he had not because I read the report with my own eyes. My GP also sent through an emergency two week referral, which was not upheld because the other consultant was on holiday (even though I saw him twice on the ward, good cover up!). To add to all of this, a doctor took me off all IV painkillers and antisickness but forgot to write me up tablets. Before this, a nurse administered IV paracetamol without it being prescribed on my wardex, which was lucky because I am just at 50kg. I saw so many failings it was absolutely unbelievable. I am seriously considering transferring my care. I at least left the hospital with a gynae referral which everyone refused to give to me, with them looking for endometriosis. I was also told id be referred to pain management, which actually doesn't exist!
