"Update from last review, after having op"

I have a review on here from week ago when op got cancelled. Just reviewing now that iv had the op yesterday All seemed to have gone ok. Was looking like it was going to get cancelled again yesterday afternoon, i was 1st on list, and the blood condition i have which meant the need to be monitored for delayed bleeding post op, which meant the op got cancelled 2 weeks ago because there were no beds, the same issue was overlooked and not prepared for. So they rang my haematologist who didn't like the idea of going ahead with surgery without preparation for my condition. Him and the urologist had a conversation and agreed that it was ok to go ahead because this time they were going to be more careful than last time I had this procedure. I was put to last on list. Spoke with anaesthetist and people. Got changed, i asked for a sedative because of my anxiety and likliness for panic attack. Was given max dose of temazepam, and laid on a bed to relax until ready to go to theatre, but theatre was ready about 30 mins later and sedative hadn't properly kicked in. Got to theatre which was one big room rather than a anaesthetic room and surgery room, saw all the things set up and started to get a panic attack so the staff all kept trying to calm me nicely and I was given some gas before the actual anaesthetic, but the panic grew so they pumped up the gas which knocked me out after about 30 Seconds ( reason I was panicking was due to a bit of pain awareness during surgery in October :S) Apparently the procedure went well and was quite tricky and required two cystoscopes to approach the stricture from both sides for accuracy. Woke up about 2 hours later and found i still had the tube in my throat which they took out before It started to cause problems, and was given oxygen through a nasal line for half an hour. Was kept in the recovery room for about an hour then taken to the extended stay area where the staff kept me looked after and monitored. Urologist thought I'd be good to go late evening but one of the main nurses on the ward wanted to keep me as there was still internal bleeding draining out through the catheter and she wanted it to clear up before being allowed out. Was kept overnight, didn't get much sleep, was woken up at 6 and the rooms lights were turned on at 7 and curtains opened, had some breakfast and dinner and was discharged a few hours ago at 1:30. Was wheeled to the door in a chair as Im still lightheaded and lethargic from having a strong anaesthetic. Follow up in 3 months. Hopefully i will get about 6-24 months relief, possibly more. Should of had this done quite some time ago but I understand the struggle hospitals are having at moment, at least it's been done now. Would like to thank all the staff involved on the day unit and extended stay area for being so kind and helpful and reassuring. Unfortunately thanking is all I can do, if i was a millionaire id take every one out for a meal or something hehe. Thanks again.
