"Badly broken elbow"

About: Royal Berkshire Hospital

Having broken my elbow while away I came home to have my operation at the Berks. It was badly broken in 5 places and needed pins. I was warned it was possible due to some of the splinters of bone being small the op may not be a success. It was a total success due to the surgeons who did a brilliant job! I cannot fault the trauma and orthopaedic department as my initial appointment with them was very smooth including x rays and CT scan plus a visit to the plaster room. The day of the operation also went very smoothly and after the operation in recovery I was brought tea and toast straight away which I was in need of. I was visited by both surgeons plus a physiotherapist. Follow up appointments have also been good and on time.
