"Failed Appointment to see midwife"

About: North Middlesex Hospital

I am 13 weeks pregnant and I suppose to have my first appointment to see midwife today, 19/01/2015 @ 09:00 AM. Apparently I didn't attent my first appointment - but I never received a letter with appointment date. Never mind, today I was on time, patiently waitting 2.5 hours just to find out that my midwife called in sick. Nobody let me know that, only when I went to reception desk again I have been told that nobody will see me today. I booked another appointment after 2 weeks. It will be 15 weeks when I will get to see a midwife for a first time, hopefully. Further more, this evening I received a phone call from North Middlesex hospital claiming that I didn't attend my appointment today and they would like to disscus this! I believe it is totally unacceptable and I am loosing faith in this maternity unit.
