I am a 60 year old lady. I presumed I was post menopausal (just) but had a small bleed and needed to check it out. I visited my family doctor who straight away referred me to the clinic at St James’s Hospital.
I was treated as if I had a brain and was given appropriate answers to my questions and concerns. I was booked for two tests, a cervix biopsy and an ultrasound. Once again I was treated very well and my concerns and questions were answered. Regarding my cervical biopsy, the lady that performed it was excellent and professional throughout and said I could ring up for the results. I did this and I was given the all clear.
My main reason in writing these notes is to state what an excellent turn for the better the NHS service is at St James’s. Patients are not treated as “things” and are part of the treatment plan and treated as such. What a welcoming change, congratulations to all. I can definitely see big differences. It’s an excellent service and I wish it all well.
