"Visit to A&E - Gynaecology"

About: Whipps Cross University Hospital

I had a total abdominal hysterectomy on 23rd September 2014. The operation went well & I was discharged on the 26th September 2014. Unfortunately I had to come in to A&E on the 1st of October 2014 as I was bleeding. I came in around 8.30 am but was not seen by a doctor till after 12 noon. When the gynaecology registrar did finally come, she was so rude & manhandled me in a way I never thought possible. She then told me that I would need to have a scan done & gave me the option of going home & having to wait a week to be seen as an outpatient or to be admitted straight away & be seen to in 24 hours. With all I had been through, I decided it would be best to have the scan within 24 hours, so I agreed to be admitted. I had to wait 3 days to have a scan & every time I asked the gynae registrar, she said she could not tell me when the scan would be scheduled for. It was only after my persistence that I had it done on the third day after which I was discharged. I write this as I would not like to see this happen to anyone & I feel doctors should be more considerate of what patients are going through & treat them with more dignity & understanding.
