"Level of A&E service"

Attended with my partner last night. We arrived at 21.30 with suspected severe trapped abscess causing considerable pain and sickness. Consulting doctored confirmed the diagnosis and referred to Surgery. By 01.30 no member of the surgical team had attended the patient. Gave up as no information could be given as to when there might even be a surgical response. Told to come back in the morning and try again. No appreciation for patient’s level of pain and anxiety nor the potential/danger of the abscess risking further complications.
