My wife Yvonne was refered to the AEC unit at The West Midd Hosp, after acouple of nights in A&E and the emergency ward, heart scare.I must just mention both The A&E and the ward on the first floor gave yvonne the best possible care,I am still stunned, but very happy just how far all the staff we met worked above and beyond the normal call of duty.Including our marvellous paramedics. We did not know what to expect on the AEC ward, yvonne thought they would take a spot of blood, and we would be away.Yvonne had every possible treatment you would get from a stay on a ward.We were there for a few hours, never neglected, offered refreshments, kept informed at all stages,at 7.30p.m. that evening the phone rang and it was the doctor to tell Yvonne that she had discussed her notes with the consultant, and that all was good,to pop in on Wednesday whereby she would have have her paperwork ready. Wherein the world can they offer any better service to the sick and worried, nowhere, is my reply. This review is tendered by a fool,me,for my previous critique of The west Midd. 2010.Sorry is not enough, you have my total admiration, please convey my deepest thanks to all concerned with my wifes treatment. John. Ambulatory Emergency Care Service
