I injured my knee in June of 2014. After seeing my GP and being sent for an MRI scan I had an appointment with a consultant at the beginning of October who told me that I would need an anterior cruciate ligament . When I asked for a timescale for this for the operation I was told that in order to meet his targets it would be before 26/12/14. We are now halfway through January and after a call to the department today a very pleasant and polite member of staff told me that the operation may now be in February. I am in a situation in work ,where I am unable to do my job fully because of this injury and I am suffering a reduction in pay as a result, my employers are also enquiring when I will be having the operation as they will need to arrange cover for my post during my absence and recuperation. I am unable to furnish them with those details at the moment. What makes the situation more galling is that a colleague in work has suffered the same injury. He went to see his surgeon one full month after me and has already had a succesful procedure, this was at Whiston Hospital. To say I am underwhelmed by the performance of Wirral Hosptial Trust would be an understatement.
