"Ward 4"

I attended this year as a day patient but difficulties after my operation meant I had to stay in for 3 days. I have to say that the nurses on Ward 4 are a really dedicated, hard-working bunch of people. Nothing was too much trouble for them and they were constantly on the go. The ward itself was spotless and the nurses were always in evidence. I lost my appetite but the staff were always ready to prepare something for me that wasn't actually part of the menu. They took time to explain to me what was going on and allay my fears. I was discharged promptly with all the relevant information I needed. The hospital was very convenient for me as I live locally and it meant my family could visit easily. I've been in the next nearest hospital for a stay and I have to say that the care I received at Hartlepool left the other hospital standing. What a shame it will be if we lose this great facility
