"Intensive care unit"

About: Watford General Hospital

My father was on the intensive care unit at Waterford general hospital, for a period of two weeks. Unfortunately, he passed away after this time in the ICU, whilst he was there I couldn't thank or be more satisfied with the care and attention not only him but all the patients received from all the nurses and doctors. Working in the department must be extremely hard, as you unfortunately do see a lot of people that don't make it. Despite the fact that most patients are sedated they are treated at all times with dignity and consideration by all the staff that look after them, they talk and explain all they are doing to the patient and kept us as relatives fully informed of all that was going on. We were so impressed with the whole unit and thank them for looking after our father, we were so grateful of their kindness.
