Thank you for your feedback regarding your continuing care at Medway NHS Foundation Trust. I appreciate that it is frustrating for you to be referred onto a different orthopaedic consultant, particularly as you are already an orthopaedic patient and have been under the care of one consultant for a while. Unfortunately it is not possible for you to continue your treatment with your current consultant as they do no specialise in hips. All the orthopaedic consultants practice in trauma to ensure assistance with emergency cases, however, they also specialise in areas of the body. Therefore, it is essential that we align your care to the right specialist consultant. I apologise for the long wait that you are currently experiencing to obtain an outpatient appointment. This is due to two vacancies that have occurred within the consultant workforce, which have been replaced and the two new individuals will commence in February. You will receive an appointment after this time. However, you can contact Irene Rixson, Service Manager 01634 830000 to establish where you are on the outpatient waiting list. Kind regards Samantha Goldberg Associate Director of Operations – Surgery, Anaesthetics & Theatres
