"Birth centre"

About: St Austell Community Hospital

I gave birth to my son 3 months ago in the birth centre and I cannot thank the staff enough. The whole environment from when we arrived to leaving two days later was fantastic. The midwives and maternity support workers couldn't do enough to help. No question was too small or silly and they were available throughout the night to help me with feeding my son, changing his nappy or just to bring me a hot chocolate! They also made sure my husband was ok and able to cope with the whole experience of becoming a dad. I would recommend the centre to anyone who is undecided on where to give birth. It's a shame there aren't more places like this as an alternative to a hospital setting.

Thank you for your feedback. We want to make sure that our teams know when they have made a positive difference, so we will pass your appreciation on to those who were involved in your experience of care. The maternity service is run by Royal Cornwall Hospitals Trust and we will pass on your comments.
