Our little boy fell ill xmas eve with breathing difficulties brought on by a virus. A trip to the walk in centre led to an ambulance ride to Whiston. After a short period in A&E we were moved to Pediatric ward 3F. Our son needed a nebuliser to stabilise his breathing and over the next 48hrs he moved to using an inhaler. Eventually his breathing settled enough for him to have an inhaler every 4 hrs and he was therefore allowed home.
Although one might think the whole affair would be a scary and sad time it was nothing of the sort. The wonderful staff on Ward 3F made the 2 days very special for us all. Most importantly his care was fantastic. The staff kept us well informed to his progress and the issues he was experiencing. At no point did my wife or I feel afraid for our son's well being. He was in very safe hands.
The staff also ensure that our son did not miss out on Christmas. He had a visit from Santa, he was given lots and lots of presents over the two days. He had a Christmas dinner and lots of nice food. Staff stopped and chatted with us. It was an odd Christmas but one I will always remember very fondly.
A big thank you all for everything you did for us all - Staff of Ward 3F and Children's A&E department.
