"Medicines on discharge"

About: Forth Valley Royal Hospital / Pharmacy Glasgow Royal Infirmary / General Medicine

(as the patient),

At both Royal Larbert and Glasgow Royal received very clear instructions.

At Larbert the whole system was computerised ( and I understand robotic dispensing) which is safe and effective and releases pharmacists time to check medicines. Medicines on discharge also notified to community pharmacist where appropriate

At GRI they have a board wide system for supplying to local hospital discharges and each patient in many GGC hospitals have a medicines cabinet for self management where appropriate and for checking before going home. Both excellent systems for safety.

Thank you Riczw4 for posting your opinions here on Patient Opinion. I'm glad you have highlighted the merits of clear instructions as information that is easy to understand is a critical part of good communication.

Best wishes Niall McGrogan
