I always find the diabetic day unit very encouraging and supportive as I cope with the unpleasant condition, even though my failure to control my weight over the years has contributed to me having this.

It is also very helpful to see the same person (Claire) each time I have an appointment. She can monitor the ups and down by seeing me over a period of time. It also means that I don’t have to go through the saga of answering the same questions during each visit because yet another person has taken over my care.

I am now losing weight which is very positive.
