My stay in the Langdale Unit at Westmoreland Hospital, given that I would have preferred to not be there at all, was very pleasant. The staff were extremely kind and efficient and there was a very happy atmosphere. I was particularly pleased to see the way in which they treated the older, physically vulnerable ladies. Having read and heard stories of such appalling and neglectful treatment to such people in other hospitals around the country, it was very reassuring to see the care that was taken. They made sure their food and beverages were rushed to patients and had not been left to get cold and also helped people with feeding if they needed it. Perhaps some lowered voices during the night time would be beneficial to patients but that is only a minor criticism.
"Very happy atmosphere"
