Amazing Diabetes Care

I am a young (ish... apparently...) guy who was diagnosed with late on-set type 1 diabetes 2 weeks after my wedding. Initially a shock, however the care, advice, support from the 2 Diabetic Nurse Specialists, Sharon & Lesley (and the medical team) has been amazing. From making sure I was able to go on my honeymoon to Australia, my wife ringing Sharon from Sydney to ask questions about hypo's, to the training, education and support.

More recently (October 2014) a routine appointment with Lesley and a change in night time insulin has resulted in fantastic control. I'm treated with respect, my treatment is always a two way discussion and more importantly diabetes now fits in with my life.

Thank you very much for taking the time to provide us with your feedback about the service you have received from the diabetes team, especially nice to read your comments about Sharon and Lesley. We are very proud of the diabetes team and have passed your comments on to them. We're behind with posting on this site, but hope you are keeping well and healthy.
