"Exceptional maternity unit"

About: Kingston Hospital

My little girl was born in November after a straightforward water birth in the Malden Suite - the staff there were fantastic and it was everything I could have hoped for. However, the following day my daughter's eyes became enflamed and we were whisked off to the neonatal unit for tests. She was diagnosed with blocked tear ducts which had become infected and needed immediate IV antibiotics. We then spent a further 7 days in transitional care whilst she was treated. Without exception, the midwives were absolutely fantastic and we were blown away by the quality of care we received. The midwives were supportive and so helpful during what was a very emotional time for myself and my husband. After the 7 days in hospital, I came away feeling much more confident in my ability as a mother and that was all down to the support I was given. Would highly recommend kingston maternity unit to all expectant mothers. Absolutely superb.
