"bad attitude of one nurse!"

About: North Tyneside General Hospital

My sister collapsed at work and was taken by ambulance to hospital. Our reason for writing this review is that the first nurse we seen 'staff nurse **** I know her name but didn't know if I was allowed to write it' in A&E, had a terrible attitude. There was myself, my sister's work colleague and my sister in the room and we all thought the same. Very condescending and snotty! I have never complained in my life but we were so annoyed of the treatment given. After seeing her though the doctor was lovely and the health care assistant. So this is about one person, not the hospital.

Response from North Tyneside General Hospital

Dear Sir / Madam, I am extremely sorry that your recent visit to A&E has resulted in you feeling very frustrated and disappointed with the attitude and behaviour of a member of staff. Many thanks for bringing this to our attention - we don’t expect any of our staff to ever treat visitors or patients in a condescending manner. I would be very grateful if you would get in touch with me directly to share more details - my email is annie.laverty@nhct.nhs.uk It is important to us to act on this quickly, firstly to understand what happened and also to prevent any recurrence in the future. We are unable to do this while your post and the member of staff remain anonymous. Many thanks for your help, Best wishes, Annie
