I recently went for my first physiotherapy appointment with the NHS, at Abbey Road Clinic Barrow in Furness, and was greatly disappointed. Although physiotherapist was friendly, he didn't listen well. Both my husband and I were suprised how rough he was when testing my muscle strength. Although I was in pain at the time, I didn't realize until the next day how much he had hurt my existing hip condition. At the end, the recommended exercises were so rushed that neither I nor my husband were sure what ones I should do. Although I'm sure this man is a great sports therapist, I fear for older and more frail paitents (like myself) who get sent to him. By not listening to his patient and not responding with appropriate care, he's done more harm than good.
"Physiotherapy is not for elderly or frail patients?"
