In December 2014 I was brought to the hospital following a fire in the lower room of our house - to be given oxygen and a medical check.
I was initially resistant to this but the emergency team was quietly and courteously firm and entirely non-judgemental.
A and E were similarly clear, considerate and efficient, each member of staff from the humblest to the most senior was in his or her own distinctive way meticulous, good-humoured and kind.
You could not have wished a finer example of humane professionalism.
