"Patients are asked to dial NHS 111"

Is it any wonder A&E is struggling to cope when GP surgeries and dental surgeries tell their patients to ring 111?

Firstly all GP surgeries should have an emergency doctor on call between certain reasonable after hours but most of all when closed they should all have the decency and common sense to tell their patients on the recorded message when they will next be open not just tell them to dial 111.

My dental practice has no website, no recorded information and I don't know if to go down the 111 route and end up adding to the numbers no doubt clogging my local A&E instead of self medicating until my dentist can see me.
