I was pleased with the treatment in Cheltenham hospital after my hip op recently. However, because of my intolerance of tablets; ibruprofen, paracetemol and a host of other stuff, administered together I was ill and couldn't eat, was in pain. It was so bad my daughter requested a doctor be consulted for some alleviation of the pain/stress. Gabatene was prescribed late at night and liquid morphine. However, because I'd informed the hospital on my pre-med form of my gastric stomach I had expected they would recognise the need for care. Hard enough to endure the hip pain without the awful pain of a gastric stomach flare-up. Blankets were taken off beds and thrown on chairs - still there next day, although a group of nurses stood chattering at the desk about family, food, presents etc. maybe each has their own duties, and cross-over is a little blurred. The surgeon and anaesthetist were brilliant; giving me confidence before the operation. The nurses were kind but there is slippage.
