"Disgraceful"

About: Queen Elizabeth Hospital (Gateshead)

Can't even begin to explain how much of a shambles this hospital is. Waited 6 hours before getting admitted onto a ward corridors littered with patients in wheelchairs also waiting. Not only did they loose my urine sample they didn't bother getting another one until the following day they also lost my list of medications therefore I wasn't given any for over 24 hours and got my name wrong on my notes. A and e department was filthy, toilets had no soap in dispensers and had bloody tissues on the floor. Left the needle used for blood tests on my bed and other clinical waste in the room could go on about how terrible the experience was

We're sorry to hear about your experience and what you describe certainly falls short of what we expect for all our patients. If you can contact our PALS (Patient Advice and Liaison Service) on 0800 653 0667 or pals@ghnt.nhs.uk they can collect some more details from you and look into this on your behalf. This will enable us to look into the situation in a more detailed way.
