"Communication"

About: The Tunbridge Wells Hospital

No complaints about staff who were all very attentive and pleasant. But there seemed to be no joined up communication between departments, During my stay of nearly 24 hours I moved through several different areas of the hospital for different tests, apparently I was considered lost on several occasions and when my family came to visit me they were told that I had not waited and had been discharged some hours previously. This caused my family distress as they could not find me. I was in fact in a ward not fifty yards away. I spent most of the day there and the following night. but my family were told I had been discharged. When I eventualy did leave I was given a letter for my GP which states that I attended A&E but did not wait. Where in fact I saw several doctors including the cardiac team, had blood taken, had an ECG , had an X-Ray and was given treatment for a heart attack. sincerley Jim Buchanan
