I attended the pre op assessment clinic 2 years ago and I must say it opened my eyes to how advanced the health service has become. I am due to have a hip operation next month and all my worries and concerns are now put to bed. I was given information on what to expect and what to do prior to my admission I was really impressed with the depth of information I was given, Karen my pre op nurse was very friendly and attentive to my questions. Carry on with the good work! What a good idea to have a pre op before surgery.

Thank you for your posting in respect of the pre-operative appointment clinic you have attended. The staff in clinic do try to ensure that the patient has as much information as possible to ensure that an informed decision to have surgery is made by the patient. I will pass your kind comments to the Head of Nursing for Specialist Services to share with staff in the pre-operative clinic and in particular Karen.
