"High standard of care and cleanliness at Hexham"

I recently spent two different two-week stays in Hexham General Hospital as a result of contracting C. diff in another hospital.

The standard of care and cleanliness was superior to anything I have previously experienced in a hospital. I was isolated in an en suite room which was cleaned thoroughly twice a day.

Nurses were attentive and helpful and doctors came to see me promptly when I was neeeding attention.

I have special dietary needs and the dietician produced a selection of menus specially for me. The catering staff went out and bought food specially for me.

The hospital staff are to be congratulated on the high standard that they have achieved. It is a pity that the Northumberland health trust seems intent on downgrading this wonderful hospital.
