My first stay in a phyciatric hospital. Couldn't of hoped for better. I stayed on Ambleside. An acute ward. Cannot fault the service as they are basically there as a safety net to help you with life threatening mental instability. Was only there a week - so sad to go! Really not scary, met some best friends for life. Staff are mostly friendly, food is pretty rubbish, medication off time. Although you take the good with the bad. Staff take time with medication so they can talk to you, access your mood/changes/needs. They obviously don't have the funding for better food & have lost funding for activities and therapy. Will be keeping in touch for the ward. Miss them all! One of the best mental experiences I've ever had (don't be put off by changes/anxiety in the first few days).
"Great experience"
