"Referrals to Physiotherapy and occupational therapy"

About: Burnley General Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

I received excellent care from both the Rheumatology Consultant & Rheumatology Nurse. However I have not yet received appointments after being referred to Physiotherapy & Occupational Therapy six weeks ago. This I feel slows down my recovery and leaves me in some pain and discomfort.

Dear TCS

Many thanks for your feedback on your experience of our Rheumatology Consultant and Nurses, and thank-you for taking the time to do so. I will make sure your appreciation is passed onto the teams concerned. I am very sorry though to hear that you are still waiting for an appointment for the Physiotherapy and Occupational Therapy services and have passed this comment onto the service manager so that they are aware that there is some delay in this which is affecting patient recovery.

If you would like to talk through your visit to us with one of our Patient Experience team so we can understand your experiences with us we would really value this so that we can try to give every patient visiting our hospitals and services safe, personal and effective care. You can either contact me (Wendy Stobbs) on 01254 734471/ 01254 733704 or email me on wendy.stobbs@elht.nhs.uk.

If you would like to share your experience in confidence with an independent organisation please contact Healthwatch BwD on 01254 504985 or info@healthwatchblackburnwithdarwen.co.uk

Or if you prefer you can discuss further any concerns you may have about our services with our East Lancashire Hospitals Trust Customer Relations team on 01254 733700 or complaints@elht.nhs.uk who can advise you of your options in raising these concerns further.

Many thanks again and best wishes for the New Year

Wendy Stobbs, Patient Experience Facilitator
