"Lack of Meals at Good Hope"

About: Good Hope Hospital / Gynaecology

(as a relative),

I was absolutely disgusted by the treatment that my wife and other patients received at Good Hope hospital recently.

In December 2014 my wife was a patient in Ward 2 at Good Hope Hospital.

In the evening two members of staff entered the room pushing a trolley and asking what everyone wanted for pudding, when someone pointed out that they had not had their dinner yet. They seemed surprised and left the room only to return 2-3 minutes later to say there was no food left, but they could prepare a salad or sandwich if anyone wanted them but this offer was turned down by all of the patients. (This is the middle of December)

How can patients recovering from surgery be expected to make any progress when the hospital cannot be bothered to feed them. It seems to me that Father Christmas is not the only person who needs the sack.

Dear Sir

Please accept my sincere apologies for the problems with food on ward 2. I'm assured by the team that this was an isolated issue & normally sufficient hot meals are delivered / available on the ward for all the patients staying there.

A review of comments on this site will hopefully reassure you that Ward 2 is normally held in high regard by patients and relatives, however again I must apologies that, on this occaision, we failed you.

Best wishes

Richard
