"Emergency Department visits"

About: East Surrey Hospital / Accident and emergency East Surrey Hospital / Trauma and orthopaedics

(as the patient),

1) I broke my arm in July

It was very upsetting and painful but after a modest wait I was treated with respect and seen by a super doctor named Joy. My diagnosis brought me no joy though but the way I was treated could not have been better as the doctor had a great 'bedside manner'

Subsequently I had an operation and the arm was expertly repaired by Doctor Panose.

2) abdominal pains/sickness etc in November

Again treated with respect and given thorough and professional help from a different doctor.

I am sincerely hoping not have to visit the Emergency Department in 2015 but I wanted to say they treated me extremely well on both visits.

I fear the department may be a victim of its own success!

Thanks to all the help given to me.

Dear localman,

Thank you for your nice comments about the A&E department. We have many people who need to use the department on more than one occasion and we are very happy to see anyone who needs us; even if that is more than once! There is no doubt that the department has improved immeasurably over the last couple of years and it is good that that is evident to our patients

Kind regards

Ian
