My recent visit to Neurophysiology for an NCS and EMG has prompted me to write a heartfelt thank you to the whole team. I was greeted by a member of staff at reception who apologised for having kept me waiting for all of ten seconds and sounded as if she meant it! She said my appointment would be about 20 minutes late and again apologised. She made me a cup of tea while I waited. (Not the NHS I am used to!) She was very pleasant and very efficient. I was called by a Clinical Physiologist who explained why I had been kept waiting and apologised. He told me to bring my tea with me! He was again polite and efficient as he carried out the procedure and explained what would happen next. I was then seen by a Consultant Clinical Neurophysiologist who apologised for the delay. He had an excellent and engaging manner. He was polite, attentive and pleasant. He explained the results of the procedure and discussed future options for treatment. As if this was not enough, when I left I was given a copy of the letter which would be sent to my consultant "in case it got lost". Whilst all this was going on I discovered that a member of staff had been helping my wife entertain our three year old granddaughter in the waiting area. She had found stickers and sweets to distract her and my wife spoke very highly of her. I would just like to conclude by thanking those who contributed to making my appointment this morning one of the most positive experiences I have had at the hands of the NHS in many years. Thank you guys and please keep up the good work!
"What a positive experience!"
