On Tuesday I had an appointment with a doctor within the Endocrinology Dept. I was seen promptly. The experienced and observant doctor was examining my thyroid, but noticed my BP and pulse rate was high. She telephoned the Richmond Ward (Acute Assessment) to arrange for me to have a ECG. On arrival this was carried out promptly and I was seen by a doctor. The results were discussed and suitable treatment given and I left the ward in good order. I mention all this because I was asked to come back for a blood test today. Since I had an Oncology appointment at 9am, one of the charge nurses offered to come in early to take my blood, so it would be ready on time for my Oncology appointment. As it happened a doctor overheard this and offered to make herself available at 8am to look after me. What a wonderful and dedicated bunch of individuals you have at St George's. I am so very grateful for the excellent care and kindness I have received. May you all receive large cheques for Xmas!!!
"A wonderful experience - again!"
