"Never again!"

About: East Surrey Hospital

Due to reduced movements I was induced 3 weeks early at ESH, I was admitted to Rusper ward and induced the same morning, later this evening I began vomiting blood heavily and bleeding I told the night midwife this and was told to just continue drinking water! I was in so much distress plus i was not allowed any lights on therefore couldn't see the extent of blood I was vomiting. I would like to add the cleanliness of the bathrooms were abismal more like a third world hospital! the following morning one lovely midwife (only one I encountered) rushed me to the delivery suite as when monitoring she realised my baby's heart rate had dropped and continued dropping with each contraction!i was rushed for a c section and luckily my daughter was born healthy and well. What literally had been the worst 24 hours of my life were made worse by being transferred to Burstow! It is a small tight hot and uncomfortable atmosphere, with midwifes snapping at you to move your bags, too many visitors, my baby making too much noise!the 3 days I was there I was served one cold potatoe every evening with no veg/salad (surely a new mum needs this?). Once the 'baby blues' kicked in there was not one bit of privacy, I was crying down the phone to my husband and every person in the ward was able to hear me! Also the toilets/bathrooms were very dirty often stained in other peoples blood and the bins were full of other women's sanitary ware. Finally I was sent home and had another patients notes sent with me instead of mine! Overall the whole experience was awful and I would never recommend this hospital again!
