"Friendly welcome"

About: Tameside General Hospital / Paediatrics

(as a parent/guardian),

I took my 2-year-old daughter to the GP because she was suffering from a bad chesty cough and a sky-high temperature. I thought I was an over-reacting mother but when the doctor assessed her, he couldn't find an obvious cause for the raging temperature and advised we go straight to Tameside Hospital for further observations.

We arrived at the unit to a friendly welcome and taken straight to a bay. The nurses were friendly and chatted to my daughter to help make her feel at ease.

Dr Brendan Sweeny assessed my daughter and was friendly, thorough and explained everything very clearly to us. He was obviously very busy but sat down and gave my daughter his full attention.
