I really wanted to review this department as I hadn't had a colonoscopy before and wanted to leave a review for others to read to put their minds at ease. I had an appointment at 2.30pm on 11th December and arrived early as requested. The department was very busy and unfortunately were running behind due to some emergencies from the wards earlier that day. I did have to wait but under the circumstances it was totally acceptable. I was very apprehensive about this treatment and extremely nervous too. I was called and went to get my BP checked, wrist band placed and informed about he procedure. The information I gained was excellent and although still nervous the nurse was absolutely fantastic and tried her best to put me at my ease. I was informed about the procedure, hope long it would take and more importantly pain relief that was available to me. The staff work extremely hard and were literally running around trying to cope with their heavy workload and all Done with a smile and laughter... brilliant. My procedure was administered by a surgeon who totally put me at ease and was more than happy to listen to me despite being very busy. I can honestly say that the team, were amazing and the procedure was relatively pain free. Thank you for treating me with dignity and giving me a fantastic service and I even managed to laugh throughout my procedure.....well done to you all. I equally do not want to leave out the other staff whilst I was recuperating either.... Tea and toast... absolute heaven... I didn't have to wait long to be discharged and everything was done with a smile. Amazing... and thank you. Jane Parkinson
