My son was diagnosed with SCID in 2011, and admitted to ward 3 at the RVI. From arrival to discharge the treatment was truly world class from both consultants and the nursing team. In particular was impressed by the willingness of the nursing team to incorporate parent/ carer feedback to continuously improve their procedures for caring for very vulnerable patients. We were treated with compassion and respect throughout our sons treatment. Follow up following discharge has been exemplary. In summary I would say this is the NHS at its best.
