"I had parathyroid removal and nodule dec 6th 2014"

About: Leicester Royal Infirmary

I spent months worrying like crazy about what to expect. On the day i was treated with respect and kindness. From nursing staff to doctors but the anethertist and surgeon were absolutely fantastic they explained everything even made me giggle and feel well at ease. They explained everything and i didnt feel rushed. My partner was treated tespectfully as well and was allowed to wait with me. Wards were clean also. Id read a lot of things on here and was scared but i honestly never found anything like it on my visits to LRI day ward balmoral and ward 7 balmoral. Operating staff were fun people who made me laugh before my operation ill never forget that. Surgeon was fantastic the best! After my op i was comfortable. I stayed in for observation and drain removed . Ive been home 48hrs my neck stitches are healing well. I just want to say thanks to all staff that delt with me i had a positive experience at this hospital and if you too are reading this and will be on these wards youll be cared for brilliantly so no need to fear . Thank you leicester royal!!!

Dear Wendy, Thank you for sharing your recent experience at our hospital. We appreciate that a lot of patients are nervous and unsure of what to expect, so it is fabulous to read that our team took great care of you and made the experience better for you. We have passed your comments onto the heads of service for ENT and Surgery, as well as the matron for ward 7, to share with with the wider team. If you want to say a special thanks to a particular member of staff, or even the whole team, you can nominate them for a Caring at its Best award via our website http://www.leicestershospitals.nhs.uk/aboutus/our-purpose-strategy-and-values/caring-at-its-best-awards/public-nomination-form/ Merry Christmas and the best of health for 2015, Communications Team Leicester's Hospitals
