"I know where to go if the feelings become overwhelming again"

About: Talygarn Unit

(as the patient),

I was sectioned under the Mental Health Act in October 2014 having made a number of threats to medical staff and police officers. I still don't understand what caused me to act so unacceptably, but time in the unit really helped me. At first I refused any medication but, after patient understanding shown by the night staff particularly, I started taking the tablets and injection and noticed a positive difference within weeks. I still get feelings of violence against others and myself but they hit me less powerfully than previously, and I know where to go if the feelings become overwhelming again. Despite what I have said in months past, I want everyone to like me and I DON'T want to cause them mental or physical harm.
