About: Leigh Infirmary / General medicine Leigh Infirmary Mh Oupatients Clinic / Women's Mental Health Unit

(as a carer),

I would just like to highlight a few concerns i have....The first one being, in my opinion, the total lack of support by the Brookleigh team for both my children and myself....My wife was under the Brookleigh team before she became a ward patient...and what i witnessed was a total lack of home and aftercare support.....

I attened a meeting a few days ago and it was put to myself that the Brookleigh team would be in contact with myself........This was four days ago and no telephone call no letter infact nothing..... which can ony support what i was saying about the care my wife was recieving by this dept.....

My opinion/fact may be of the mark due to staffing levels which i can understand but on two differant matters there seams to be little or no resolve......

Regards,

concerned person

thank you for taking the time to make this posting.

I'm sorry to hear of your experience within our CMHT. We will address any issues or concerns that a service user or carer has on an individual basis. I am unable to comment upon the level of service this person has or has not received due to the anonymity of the author. If the carer feels that there are issues that need addressing then i am more than happy to meet with them in order to identify what has in their opinion gone wrong.

We are also able to offer or update the carer assessment in order to see if there is any way in which support could be given to the family. Children and Young Peoples Services would also be able to give advice and identify any needs that would fall under the Children In need criteria with regard to family support while a parent is unwell.

If the concerned person would like to contact the team at their earliest opportunity then i would be happy to investigate their concerns.
