I went into hospital on Wednesday 3rd, for mastoidectomy, I had a right otticotomy and tympanoplasty. I should of been admitted to ward 9 and when ringing prior to admittance I found i was going on day care. I had a trolley rather than a bed, the nurses had no time for me as they were out of the depth, the surgical team were fab thoug. I was bought back to the ward around 2 pm, where I was constantly vomiting in between sleeping. The surgeon came round to check on me a 5pm and said if I wanted to I could stay over night which I was glad and pleased about, the nurse however said that's ok for him to say but we are the ones who have to give the bed to you....what happened to patient care? So I ended up home about 8 pm, with no after care advice, by midnight I had a paramedic out because I was bleeding... not good. I have since had to find out my own care advice. I think the time should be taken to explain all this to me as it's not been the nicest experience
