"MIU visit"

About: Accrington Victoria Hospital

I visited with an injury to my hand. The receptionist was very nice and friendly, I didn't have to wait long to be seen and the triage nurse was fine. When called through to see the nurse practitioner she was both rude and patronising. I had no real examination and her parting comment was "I will let you go then and not waste any more of your day". I made time in my schedule to go to hospital for treatment because I was in pain so the trip was not a waste of time until my contact with this nurse. I am only glad that this individual works in MIU and not a department that requires more sensitive qualities like compassion, empathy and a good bedside manner.
