Just a short visit this time, an overnight stay. I had a TIA in September and spent a number of days and nights on the benfleet stroke ward, on Wednesday I was admitted via A&E as I was experiencing a headache and left side weakness and tingling. The care is exceptional, I was treated first in the emergency dept and underwent a ct scan and then admitted to the ward. I am amazed at the energy and enthusiam shown by all the staff. It was exceptionally busy everywhere but all the staff treated me with care and consideration, were professional but friendly and put me at ease. I am always amazed how they maintain these high level of standards day in day out but they do and should be commended. The stroke sister on duty deserves a special mention, she was amazing to say the least. She saw me in A&E and then later on the ward and was there the next day, her bedside manner exceeded all my expectations. I was extremely worried about my condition but she immediately put me at ease and made me feel confident. Southend hospital are brilliant in my opinion and I would like to thank all the staff that looked after me.
"Outstanding treatment"
