"Experience over night Russells Hall Hospital"

Hello All. My experience from admittance on the 10th November 2014 / triage at A&E to treatment cubicals to a ward bed was an good experience i thank them all for. Never being admitted before for my condition which is still very new again to me to manage Asthma and it`s triggers chest infections vunerability, Their explaining of things in detail to me. Each person in there including myself depending on wards care are at different mobility stages. Instead of calling all the time i was able to take myself to the toilet, dress undress manage the condition with lower stress levels as support or advice was there. Which helped also control the symptoms even to getting sleep with lights on and other poorly patients & monitors. As everyone is aware elderly need more monitoring as their pain thresholds treatments effects can sometimes be very distressing. Even toilet duties bathing sleep all adds up depending on length of stay i could of quite happily stayed longer having go the first day sorted. Allot of memory good experiences are based on Respect Care Compassion Understanding.In an ideal world everyone would sleep at the same time be perfect patients but were all different. And we might also be like that one day. Maybe to save time items could be added to rooms as emergency supplies to save time like Towel Bedpans (cardboard) or plastic jug. Cups water Jugs. Disposable water bowls in case you want to wash bit like a Premier Inn but on a budget.Saves time having explained how to use one to a patient to them using it on their own without assistance. Just collection.Basic check list to unfortunatly keep an eye if pilfering goes on. There nothing worse than being somewhere and getting into a situation that could be avoided. Another valid point is, i spoke to the duty janitor the next day and her boss who after i asked a valid question on asthmatics & chemical sensitivity sufferers how using chemicals like those on wards toilets & food prep thank youvery much for that talk very important! areas could cut down on all the fancy smelly supermarket residue leaving products that could be improved on. Even steam cleaning at home nower days is highly reccomended. Dettol, Eco friendly bacteria ranges all makes better sence. I recetly qorked in a kitchen & pub environment that took on similar principles kitchen food prep areas bars areas & toilets. Same principle. All in all a big thankyou to all the staff that made it happen. Lets see if i can carry on their good work in the next two weeks in my own area & home environment. And i always tell the truth :).
