"Out standing care"

Having had an extremely frightening experience at another hospital two weeks previous I found myself full of dread as I travelled once more in the back of an emergency ambulance. This time however I had the great fortune to be admitted via A&E to ward 31 and into the hands of the most amazing staff nurse and health care assistant I had ever met. Within 20 minutes of being on the ward I felt the safest I had felt in two weeks as these two members of staff treated me with genuine concern and care. They gave me constant reassurance and support whilst I waited for the surgical team and I will be for ever grateful to them. Having had my surgery and spent a couple of days on ICU I returned to ward 31 where I continued to receive the same level of excellent care from the whole ward team mixed with just the right amount of humour and encouragement. This team is a shinning example of how the commitment of dedicated and truly caring staff can provide outstanding care despite the pressure put on them by an under funded health service.
