"This is how it should be done!"

About: Hospital Of St Cross (Rugby)

I was a patient on Cedar Ward for my TKR on Monday 24 November and returned home on Thursday 27 November. All the way through, from my initial appointment earlier in the year with the doctor to my stay on Cedar Ward I was treated as a person and not a hospital number! Every single member of staff, cleaners, HCAs, nursing staff, physios and doctors were absolutely superb. Questions were answered, fears put to rest and everything was done to ensure comfort and speedy recovery of the patient. I really can't praise you enough. I was also impressed with the compassion shown to an older lady in my bay who had broken her hip after suffering a fall. Initially she was very confused and didn't want to eat and was treated so kindly and gently with a member of staff sitting and feeding her. With such loving care after a couple of days she was feeding herself. And this is what nursing should be!! If one hospital can do this so well then surely it's not rocket science for this to be held up as an example to others. I have only one small area of concern which I don't want to air publicly but would be happy to speak about with the Ward Manager.
