Arrived at A.E. in an ambulance was just left in a wheelchair for over 45 minutes waiting to be checked in. Was treated with disrespect by a nurse who obviously did not want to be working. Her attitude along with the doctors was disgusting and hurtful. Was not assessed or seen for a further hour. I was treated worse than a animal at the hospital they had no care or regards to my health or mental well being in any way. I was given pain killers and just left until hours later a nurse arrived demanding I go home. She said she wanted me gone asap. I was told to vacate the bed as the nurse said "we need you gone everyone gets ill not just you". as I said I felt like throwing up. I did throw up was drowsy and felt terrible. I am also a diabetic in the time at AE my sugar level were not tested once !!!!! I was not even given a basic urine test which I see as a breach of care. This was detrimental to my health as I was suffering from a urine infection. I had this confirmed when I had no choice but to visit an out of hours GP because I refused to go back to the AE the next day as I was still in pain. I was given no assistance in getting ready or asked if I required anything. Was not told about any test results or what was wrong with me instead I was thrown out in the wet pouring rain at 4.45am. I staggered to the exit and was picked up. no discharge letter was given to me or forwarded to my GP. Is this the level of care the Luton & Dunstable Hospital has to offer !!!!!!!!!!!! Would the staff at the a.e. treat their loved ones with the same attitude and level of respect ?
