In early July this year (2014) I went into Eastbourne General for what I was told would be a routine gynaecological op and what I came out with was a massive big problem. I have been in excruciating and debilitating pain ever since. My whole life has changed, the quality of it greatly diminished. I am no longer able to work, have pain on sitting, on moving, on doing anything. During my many attempts to get help with this problem I have been ignored, dismissed, fobbed off, patronised, misdiagnosed, belittled, shamed and in, my opinion, deliberately lied to. I have, without a doubt, and with great understatement, been denied any proper follow-up, post-op care. Most of the time I am now in tears, both with this awful pain and with the all-too-recent memory of the shabby treatment I have received. I feel that every single medical professional I have spoken with about the damage done to me has not listened, and instead has given me the impression of being much more concerned with careerist issues (and concomitantly, with their necks) than with any sense of integrity or genuine duty of care towards me. It is now almost five months on and I am no further in having this issue resolved.
