i dislocated my shoulder in November after falling off a chair during an attempt at DIY and was driven by a family friend to Elgin hospital within an hour.
I was made to wait for an hour before i was seen by a nurse who was extremely tired and harassed and only asked me two questions before deciding that i needed an x-ray. After this brief interview i was led to a row of benches and made to sit next next to a teenage boy with a partially severed toe which was bleeding heavily on the floor and made to sit for a further 6 hours. The nurses kept nipping out of the door behind me for ,what I assume was, a cigarette so the room was freezing and doctors were standing around conversing about the television show they had watched during their break.
After the x-ray i had to sit for a further 3 hours to wait for results. I was sent home after being told that i had a minor bone bruise, only to be called back the next morning for my actual diagnosis.
Whilst the nursing staff were friendly and polite and did the best they could to make me comfortable, the doctors seemed oblivious to my pain and were, in my opinion, determined to tell me there was nothing wrong.
"9 hour wait"
